CryptoSoC
Project ID : A304
2001-2004
Work areas involved
Secure components for high
speed networks.
Secure B2B and B2C platforms.
European-wide standards for highly
secure transactions.
CryptoSoC aims
at addressing the critical issue of developing a cryptographic SoC
(System-on-Chip) HW architecture, intended to perform a wide range of
cryptographic functions and related ones. The SoC architecture should be based
on a collection of inter-operable IP blocks, developed collaboratively
by the partners of the consortium, and it should enable the synthesis of
various types of CryptoSoC components, exactly matching the feature
requirements of each particular equipment (information server, network
infrastructure, mobile handset), with a focus on very high performances
(enabling large scale PKI infrastructure and Tb / s class networks) and on very
high levels of trusted security (enabled by a Common Criteria evaluation
and certification). The CryptoSoC consortium has been formed with partners
covering the entire technology and market scope, from research laboratories to
silicon foundry and product manufacturer, and with a focus on technological
innovation and anticipation of the future market needs.
